DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to provide participants with the required knowledge and skills to safely erect and dismantle scaffold structures to reduce risk of injury and damage to personnel and property in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA) and accepted safe working practices. The course also deals with applicable legislations, personal responsibilities, the engineering principles behind scaffolding, the correct procedure and rules to safe erection and dismantling of scaffolds, accident prevention and scaffold maintenance.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the course, the delegates are expected to:

  1. Prepare and execute scaffolding plans
  2. Identify the scaffold-related danger areas on an offshore installation
  3. Conduct inspections of scaffolding, scaffold components and assess scaffold capacity
  4. Apply safe erection and dismantling procedures
  5. Demonstrate emergency procedures pertaining to scaffolds
  6. Properly use, maintain and store scaffolding equipment

DESCRIPTION:

This OPTIO approved course is designed to meet the initial offshore safety and emergency response training and assessment requirements for personnel new to the offshore oil and gas industry. BOSIET introduces delegates to the specific safety issues and regimes relevant to offshore installations, and to equip them with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills for traveling to and from offshore installations by helicopter.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the course, the delegates will gain a fundamental level of understanding of safety and emergency response on an offshore installation and demonstrate skills in:

  1. Offshore safety
  2. Helicopter safety and escape
  3. Sea survival including first aid
  4. Firefighting and self-rescue

DESCRIPTION:

Roustabouts play a really important role on offshore rigs, and things wouldn’t be able to function without them. However, working as a roustabout is seriously demanding. Physically, you will be pushed to the limits, and you’ll need to work in a variety of weather conditions, plus you must be able to deal with heights. If you are applying for roustabout jobs online, make sure you take this into account.

DESCRIPTION:

This practical, hands-on intensive training course is designed to train personnel assigned to serve as a member of an Emergency Response Team on an offshore installation. With offshore-specific hazards in mind, the course instills confidence and competence in participants when dealing with fire and non-fire-related hazards and emergencies.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the course, the delegates are expected to:

  1. Maintain a state of readiness and respond to emergencies
  2. Enter incident areas and work safely
  3. Rescue personnel
  4. Carry out firefighting operations using fixed and/or portable firefighting equipment
  5. Maintain effective communication in accordance with procedure and ensure that the appropriate persons are notified
  6. Use firefighting equipment

DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed for personnel who will be in charge to control firefighting operations. It covers the training recommended in Annex 2 of IMO Assembly Resolution A. 437 (XI)- Training of crew on firefighting. AFF is patterned after IMO Model Course 2.03.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the course, the delegates are expected to:

  1. Use the techniques learned to take command and control of a firefighting team
  2. Effectively organize the personnel in the event of fire on board a ship
  3. Inspect and maintain fire extinguishing systems and equipment
  4. Record incident and investigation reports
